Commercial Pilot Licence

LICENCE PRIVILEGES: You may work as a pilot and get paid for flying. You must fly under VFR rules until obtaining an instrument rating.

MINIMUM AGE: 18 Years

MEDICAL: Category 1

Starter module

Transport Canada Licence Requirments:

  • 200 hours of total flight time (100 hours must be as pilot in command, PIC)
    • dual instruction 35 hours
    • solo 30 hours

*remaining hours are build-up time*

  • 20 hours instrument flying (10 hours may be on approved flight simulator)
  • 80 hours ground school

 

After obtaining PPL, 65 hours of flight training consisting of 35 hours of dual and 30 hours of solo (including 300nm radius cross-country with 3 intermediate stops)

 All training conducted after getting PPL can count towards commercial training
